Attending Iran Quran Contest An Opportunity for Improvning Quranic Skills: Thai Reciter

IQNA – The Thai representative in Iran’s International Quran Competition described the event as an opportunity for improving Quranic skills.

Thai representative in the women’s section of Iran’s 40th International Quran Competition

 

Knukwan Suktawun competed in the Tarteel recitation category of the women’s section of Iran’s 40th International Quran Competition.

Speaking in an interview with IQNA, she said the contest was very close as it has brought together some of the best female reciters from different countries.

She added that it provided a good opportunity for her to compare her performance with other contenders, which would help her improve her Quranic skills in the future.

The Thai Quran reciter also thanked the Islamic Republic of Iran for best organizing the Quranic event.

She noted that she has previously participated in a number of international Quran contest and come third in the one in Malaysia.

Suktawun further referred to the important role of the Quran in life and said the Holy Book is the criterion and guide in her life and she even chooses her friends and those with whom she associates in accordance with the Quranic teachings.

“Currently, my best friends are Quran activists,” she noted.

Suktawun also urged everyone, especially the youth, to take recourse to the Holy Book and seek help from God whenever they face problems and difficulties in life.

Iran’s 40th International Quran Competition was held in Tehran on February 18-24 with the motto of “One Book, One Ummah, Book of Resistance”.

A total of 69 reciters and memorizers from 44 countries took part in the final stage of the contest.

Winners of different categories in the men’s and women’s sections were named and awarded at the closing ceremony held Wednesday evening.

The annual event, organized by Iran’s Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization, aims to promote the Quranic culture and values among Muslims and showcase the talents of Quran reciters and memorizers.
